CISCE drops pass mark criteria for ICSE, ISC board examinations

  • The minimum passing marks for Class 10th would be 33% and the same for Class 12th boards exams would be 35%.
  • The newly proposed minimum pass marks for Class 10th and 12th board exams will be applicable from the academic year 2018-2019.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced to decrease the pass percentage for class 10 and 12 examinationsfrom 2019. The minimum passing criteria will be now equal to all other boards, stated the notification released by board on Monday.

For ICSE examination, pass marks would be 33% instead of 35% earlier; and for ISC board pass marks would be 35% instead of 40% earlier.
After holding several meetings with Ministry of Human resource development along with other examination boards, Inter Board Working Group (IBWG) recommended that all boards should have equal passing marks. The objective of this is to bring in uniformity with other boards. All the heads of the school have been asked to implement this notification from examination year 2019 and implement same in the internal examinations as well, from session 2018-19. For class 9 and 10, passing marks would be 33% and for class 11 and 12 passing marks would be 35%.
